Domain Myths and Blunders Impact SEO December 20, 2010 No Comments

When you’ve serviced as many SEO clients as we have, you come to find some strange practices including a number of domain disasters.

Perhaps the biggest offender is what I’ll refer to as “domain disposal.” Amazingly, this happens all too frequently… Usually a sole proprietor or small company decides they will change their domain name on a whim. Perhaps they’ve found a more clever name, maybe the company has merged or taken a new parter. Whatever the reason, abruptly disposing of your domain for another tops the list of SEO killers!

SEO Essentials Include Link Building November 8, 2010 No Comments

It’s been just two weeks and SEO companies have taken note of our new PowerLinks program. A large SEO competitor recently contacted us “anonymously” to steal our PowerLinks’ secrets. Of course, we’re not talking — but the exchange has put a grin on our faces. Apparently, this competitor’s clients are dying to know what it feels like to have top ranking. By the way, we’re more than happy to provide you the secret in the form of phenomenal ranking results.

Fire Your SEO November 2, 2010 No Comments

Is SEO dead? Hardly. Quite the opposite — it’s more essential to online success than ever before. Then why would you ever consider firing your SEO company?

Many “so called” SEO companies do little for exorbitant fees. Once they have the fundamentals — typically on-page optimization and some link building — they continue to charge high monthly fees with minimal effort.

Update Facebook Page Profile Picture March 3, 2010 No Comments

I’m frequently asked how to use Facebook by clients — especially Facebook Business Pages (aka Fan Pages) for business promotion. So I’ve decided to post some Facebook how to’s as I field these questions.

Here’s how to change or update a photo on your Facebook Business Page to be used as the Profile Picture:

  1. Sign in to Facebook (NOTE: You can skip steps 2 and 3 if you have a direct link to your Page.)

Document the Journey to Success With Social Media March 13, 2009 No Comments

_MG_0162In speaking to a European travel and tourism client this week, he lamented the new, ultra price sensitive nature of his marketplace. With the current economy his private tours are down from years past. And now, with prospective clients bargain hunting, it’s making for a tough go. Sound familiar?

Can Your Web Designer SEO? March 2, 2009 No Comments

Search-Engine-MarketingHave you ever contracted with a web designer? Perhaps your business has an in-house designer who poured countless hours into the creation of your site. You may be thrilled with the eye candy and marketing sizzle, but will your website ever be seen? The answer may surprise you.
